4 fun activities to do at home with your baby in 15 minutes

Is your child bored at home and does not give you a moment’s peace? Discover 4 fun activities that you can organize in no time and that will keep your child occupied for some time.

1. Boat building and water play

Most kids love water play and activities that involve imagination. You can combine the two and organize a fun activity that your little one will surely enjoy. Building boats together from materials available at home and playing with them in the water will be fun for your child. Use a large bowl from which you will make a container of water and prepare materials that can be used to build boats. These can be:

  • walnut shells,
  • muffin tins,
  • plastic cups,
  • plastic food wrappers such as cheese,
  • toothpicks – to make flagpoles,
  • tissues, paper or pieces of fabric to make sails.

You can also add some objects that will sink and thus help your child discover which ones will be able to stay afloat

2. Finger painting

Another fun activity that will engage your child’s imagination is finger painting. To organize it you will need

  • large format paper,
  • finger paint, which you can make yourself.

Recipe for finger painting paint:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of flour,
  • 1 tablespoon of salt,
  • 1.5 cups of cold water,
  • 0.25 cup of food coloring

Preparation:

Mix the flour with the salt. Add cold water and stir until ingredients are combined. Add hot water and bring to a boil, stirring until smooth. When cool, add food coloring.

You can prepare the paint with your child together (in addition to cooking) – combining the ingredients will be an extra form of fun.

3. Desert island

This game is particularly entertaining for your child, and it will give you a chance to relax. You agree that all the floors in the house are the deep sea, and one of the couches is a desert island. Depending on the changing weather, your child must stock up on items that will help them survive. It’s a game that will leave a bit of a mess, but will be able to keep your child occupied for up to an hour. You, on the other hand, can sit back in a chair with a book and just announce the changing weather every now and then.

4. Creating a dream book

Another creative activity that you’ll need to organize:

  • a large-size notebook,
  • old newspapers and magazines,
  • scissors,
  • glue,
  • crayons, markers, coloured pens.

All collected newspapers and magazines will serve as materials from which the child will create the collage of their dreams – cutting out selected illustrations, photos and pictures, combining them and pasting into a notebook, and decorating will be great fun for every toddler.
