An empty wall in the kitchen – how to arrange it?

Kitchen is a place that should, above all, be well organized. However, this does not mean that it can not be beautiful. You are still arranging this interior, but you have one empty wall left and you are not quite sure what to do with it? Here are some ideas for arranging such a space!

An empty wall, no matter what room it is in or what style the interior is decorated in, just looks bad. Often, all it takes is an idea and a little work to turn it into a decoration. To do this, you can take a few routes. One option is to think about what your kitchen is missing. Maybe you need extra space to set up or hang kitchen accessories? Another option is to simply decorate the interior with a poster or a wall sticker. There are so many possibilities. Just choose the one that’s right for you!

Wallpaper

An empty wall in the kitchen looks bland and also affects the character of the entire room. If you want to relatively cheaply diversify the interior, add color and make the empty surface stand out and attract attention, wallpaper is a great way to do it. You can bet on black and white stripes, floral, flower and geometric motifs. Wallpaper imitating wood, brick or concrete will also look effective. What is more, wallpapers are a great way to cover any flaws of plaster or discoloration on the wall.

Stickers

If you prefer to start with something smaller, you can also stick on the wall stickers or a composition made of them. It can be a funny inscription, your favorite life motto or a quote about cooking. Do you want to introduce a bit of color? Go wild and stick monstera leaves or a cup of coffee with scattered seeds. This is a good and simple patent to change the interior, which you can do yourself!

Chalkboard

Hang a chalkboard on an empty wall or paint a piece of it with chalkboard paint. This way you will create a surface for exchanging simple and quick messages between your household members. You can make shopping lists, write down important dates or draw something funny on it.

Paintings, posters, photos

A bit of art never hurts, and the kitchen is also a good place to put in a frame a poster from your favorite movie, theater performance or reproduction of a famous painter or graphic artist. Opt for one large frame or several smaller ones. You can also put into several frames, for example, your favorite vacation photos, which during breakfast will remind you of warm, vacation days.

Shelves and rails

If you prefer to focus on the practical aspect of arranging this free space, you can place a few shelves that will become additional storage space, which is so valuable in every kitchen. Place jars of pasta, sugar or flour on them or arrange plates or china. On the rails you can hang decorative mugs or a collection of your cups. Thanks to the fact that they will be on top, you will use them more often and enjoy having them every day.

Kitchen herbarium

A free wall, especially if accompanied by good access to daylight, you can arrange as a home herbarium. Place on it some rails, flowerbeds or simply hanging pots, into which you can put herbs such as basil, thyme, oregano, mint or rosemary. Of course, if you prefer, plant flowers in them.
