Don’t want to live in a block of flats or a detached house? Are you looking for something “in the middle”? It would seem, then, that a terraced house is something you might be seriously interested in. Many real estate development projects are now houses of this type. Importantly, they are very often located in the city, rather than on its outskirts. So it is safe to say that a terraced house is a substitute for a house, but in a much more attractive location. Especially if you use public transportation, have children who, living outside the city, would have to be transported to classes… See if a terraced house is a good option just for you.
The main advantage of a terraced house is that… it is not an apartment in a block of apartments! Just like that, this alone is a big plus of the situation. You have a separate entrance, a garage and a piece of garden – a real substitute for living in a single-family house. More privacy and freedom is something that also awaits you when you move to a terraced house. Very often such an apartment is chosen by people who are comfortable with city life, but would still like to feel a bit of the atmosphere of owning their own home.
Not everyone also feels like arranging a large garden and taking care of it on a daily basis, but a small green area for independent development is a very interesting option. In such an environment you can relax after a hard day, and in the spring and summer season arrange a barbecue for family or friends. Let’s go back to the garage. Anyone who has lived in a block of flats and scraped the car windows in the winter knows well what a nuisance it is. Undoubtedly, a terraced house has quite a few advantages that are worth considering!
This does not mean, of course, that living in a terraced house has no disadvantages. Some would even say that it has quite a few of them. It is not a detached house, and therefore you have neighbors behind the wall. So, as it happens with people, things can be different. A good neighbor is a treasure, but a nuisance is a real problem. It’s better not to find out for yourself.
You also don’t have design freedom, and there are stairs in the house. If you don’t want to run from upstairs to downstairs every day, a terraced house may not be a proposition for you. You also won’t expand the house. If it gets too cramped, your only option for change is to move.
It’s difficult to give a clear answer to the question of which is better – a terraced house, an apartment or a detached house. Each of these concepts meets different needs. A terraced house is certainly a very interesting proposition!
